Tuition fee for Grade 7-12 for First Year Student

Compulsory Fees

Compulsory Fees are divided into 2 types as follows:

  1. Application Fee: THB 10,000 per student
    This is a one-time fee payable when the application from is submitted. When a student applies to GIS for the first time it is non-refundable.
  2. Security Deposit: THB 10,000 per student
    This is a fee which is refundable without interest at the end of Grade 12 or after the student withdraws from the school at any time. The cost of any damage will be deducted by the price of that item. All textbooks and equipment must have been returned in order to receive the refund. Moreover, the student must inform in writing to the Registration Department of withdrawal.
  3. 2020-2021Tuition and Fees

Sibling Discount

Families with two or more children simultaneously enrolled at GIS will receive:
2nd – 3rd child – 15% discount from tuition and fees
4th – 5th child –20% discount from tuition and fees

4. 2020-2021 Boarding Fee

***For a student who decides to stay in the dormitory on the weekend and the holidays, the boarding fee is 350 THB per day for each student.

Boarding Fees (Some activities may have additional fees)

  1. Transportation Fees
    A boarding student who is sick, needs dental service (not emergency), goes to do private business in Central Plaza, the Airport etc. will be responsible for the travelling expense based on actual distance.
    Bangkok Hospital (Chiangrai) 700 THB/time
    Mae Fah Luang International Airport 700 THB/time
    Central Plaza Chiangrai 700 THB/time
    Other Places (based on actual distance)
    Remark: Permission must be obtained first.
  2. Food Fees
    For boarding students the school will provide 3 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
    For non-boarding students the school will provide only lunch.
    (For those who need to have another meal the cost is 70 baht.)
  3. Uniform and study equipment (all students)
    Every student must wear GIS school uniforms that are sold in the school store. The price list will be provided on the date of application. The students should pre-order by contacting the school store.
  4. Important educational documents fees
    Fee of transcripts or any important educational documents are 300 THB/issue
    There is a mail service with shipping fees for students who need to get a document by mail.
  5. SAT, TOEIC, IELTS, Etc., students will be responsible for the exam expenses.

Refund Procedures for tuition fees

For students withdrawing during the 2020-2021 academic school year, tuition will be refunded according to the following guidelines:

Withdrawal within the first week of the First Semester

Withdrawal after August 28, 2020

Withdrawal within the first week of the Second Semester

Withdrawal after November 7, 2020

75% of the First Semester Fee.

No refund of the First Semester Fee.

75% of the Second Semester Fee.

No refund of the Second Semester Fee.

*If parents pay a year in advance, the following refund is given:

Withdrawal within the first week of the First Semester

Withdrawal after August 28, 2020

Withdrawal within the first week of the Second Semester

Withdrawal after November 7, 2020

75% of the First Semester Fee.

No refund of the First Semester Fee.

50% of the Second Semester Fee.

No refund of the Second Semester Fee.

Payment procedures for tuition and fees

  1. Pay individually at Gainesville International School Chiangrai by Cash or Cashier Cheque made payable to ‘Gainesville International School Chiangrai’ at Cashier’s Office.
  2. Transfer to Bangkok Bank Public Co., Ltd. Mae Sai Branch, Account Name ‘Gainesville International School Chiangrai’ Savings Account Number 398-096564-8
    Instructions:
  • Please enclose the copy of the invoice with your Cashier Cheque.
  • Write your child’s name on the back of your cheque or your pay-in slip.
  • Fax, scan or take a photo for your proof of payment to number -66 052-100100 or email to [email protected]

Late payment penalties shall be applied as follows:

  • Overdue account are billed at 1.25% per month of tuition fees.
  • After 30 days beyond the invoice due date: the school may withhold all student records and will not provide any grade until accounts have been settled.

Application Fee (non-refundable): 60,000 THB

Tuition Fees:

❖ Fees quoted initially are in THB (Thai Baht), while students from China region are required to pay in RMB (Chinese Yuan) as specified above. The Application Fee for Chinese students is RMB 18,000.

❖ ASEAN member countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand.

Tuition Fees cover:

  • All costs relating to the standard curriculum and activities delivered at GIS during the course;
  • Meals:
    • Living off-campus, GIS provides only a lunch meal on school days;
    • Living on-campus, GIS provides three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) a day;
  • Accommodation (air conditioning dormitory and hot water shower);
  • Student accidents and health insurance;
    • The student’s accident insurance covers only 10,000 baht for each accident case; parents have to bear the excess cost beyond this limit.
  • One I-Pad with lesson plan;
  • Textbooks for all subjects;
  • Free laundry (4 pieces per day);
  • School uniforms and briefcase;
  • Military uniforms and backpacks.
  • Holidays and timetable:
    • Long holidays: students must move out of the dormitory, i.e., Songkran Festival, from April 11 to 15, the holidays between semesters.
    • Monday to Thursday 8:40 am – 3:30 pm – school class; Friday 8:40 am – 11:00 am – school class; Monday to Thursday 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm – revision time; Friday 1:00 pm – 3.30 pm – music and other events.
